The GovTech Innovation Exchange enables the Federal Administration to look for innovative solutions to current challenges in digital transformation. On 20 June 2025, representatives from the Federal Administration met with selected start-ups to discuss current challenges and innovative approaches to resolving them. To date, follow-up orders worth more than CHF 135,400 have been placed.
In order to test new ideas, the Federal Administration can develop prototypes or run pilot projects. Start-ups, in turn, offer innovative approaches but have less market visibility than traditional providers.
To enable start-ups and federal agencies to develop innovative solutions together, the Federal Chancellery’s DTI Sector held another Innovation Exchange in 2025. By doing so, the Federal Administration responded to a request from Parliament to examine innovative ideas and implement them quickly where appropriate.
The Innovation Exchange offers start-ups the opportunity for dialogue with federal agencies. In return, the participating agencies gain an overview of highly innovative solutions available on the market. The ideas developed during the Innovation Exchange may then lead to concrete implementation orders.

The participating federal agencies selected the best proposals and met with the relevant start-ups on 20 June 2025 to review and refine the challenges and proposed solutions. The participating federal agencies are using these insights to decide whether and how to move ahead with the challenges. By October 2025, they had placed direct follow-up orders worth a total of CHF 135,400.
