API Architecture Bund

The «API Architecture Bund» programme has the aim of standardising and promoting digital access to government services in the federal government environment in the machine-to-machine context for businesses, the administration and private individuals. These objectives correspond to the needs identified by political actors, businesses and the Digital Federal Administration Strategy.

The «API Architecture Bund» programme consists of a set of architecture principles and a reference architecture. Together, the principles and reference architecture provide a framework and common language for designing API solution architectures for digital access to government services.

The documents below are available in german.

The API documentation guidelines help to implement the design recommendations for managing documentation relating to the Confederation's API architecture.

These REST API guidelines build on where the API architecture of the Confederation leaves off. They are design guidelines for RESTful APIs, aimed at all API developers within the federal or public administration.
