agridata.ch is the basis of the Swiss agricultural and food sector’s data space. This future data exchange platform will enable secure, efficient and trustworthy data sharing, as well as implementation of interoperability and the once-only principle.
Currently, data has to be entered several times in different systems, even though it is sometimes identical. The aim is to reduce this administrative effort. agridata.ch is also intended to give farmers the opportunity to retain control over their data and thus guarantee digital sovereignty.
The project is divided into two phases: development of the minimum viable product (MVP) and development of the long-term agridata. Only three data exchange use cases will be modelled as part of the MVP. These relate to bidirectional data exchange between the Farm Management Information System (FMIS) and the cantonal information system and to data sent from the cantonal system to a label organisation. The central module of these data transfers is consent management by farmers using the future agridata.ch app.
