Data space «TriRegio Data Space»
The TriRegio Data Space is a cross-border, cross-sector, decentralised infrastructure that enables data sharing between Freiburg (Germany), Mulhouse (France) and Basel (Switzerland). The project aims to promote cross-border cooperation between cities and private stakeholders by making closed data easier and safer to access.
The cities of Freiburg, Basel and Mulhouse (DE, CH, FR) are working together to develop the cross-border, cross-sector TriRegio Data Space. This data space will help to ensure that closed data can be made accessible to specific administrative areas and private companies in cities across different countries. During the first stage, this will include non-personal data that cannot currently be shared between different stakeholders, or can only be shared with significant effort (e.g. measurement or raw data from smart city applications). Data sharing will create new opportunities for tackling key challenges such as climate change, sustainable urban development and improvements to quality of life.
