The former Federal Strategy Unit for IT (FSUIT) has taken on new tasks since the start of 2012, and has also been renamed the Federal IT Steering Unit (FITSU). The renaming took place via the revised Federal
Information Technology Ordinance (FITO) of 9 December 2011.
The Federal Council has accepted the published Master Plan on April 15th, 2015. The Plan focuses on the years 2015 and 2016, defines 12 milestones and assigns responsibilities to organization units within the federal administration.
