Strategic IT Planning procedural methodology
The preparation and maintenance of IT strategies within the Federal Administration follow the Strategic IT Planning (SIP) procedural methodology.
The Digital Transformation and ICT Steering Sector DTI has the task of developing and implementing the strategy on information and communication technologies (ICT) in the Federal Administration.
The basis for the federal government’s ICT strategy is set out in the Ordinance on the Coordination of Digital Transformation and ICT Steering in the Federal Administration (DTITO), which was adopted by the Federal Council on 25 November 2020. It sets out the tasks, competences and responsibilities regarding the steering and management of ICT at federal level.
The preparation and maintenance of IT strategies within the Federal Administration follow the Strategic IT Planning (SIP) procedural methodology.
The strategy ensures that ICT is oriented towards business affairs and is approved by the Federal Council every four years as a high-ranking general guideline for the management of ICT use within the Federal Administration.
