The Federal Chancellery is the Federal Council’s staff office

Federal Chancellery
The Federal Chancellery provides services to the Federal Council and the Federal Administration as a whole, as well as to the general public. The range of services provided is continually adapted to meet new needs and challenges.

The Federal Chancellery informs

The public has a right to be informed quickly and in full. The federal government’s communications are coordinated by the Federal Chancellery, which also ensures that the information provided to the public by the federal authorities respects the multilingual nature of the country. The Federal Council spokesman and Vice Chancellor, André Simonazzi, gives a press conference after each weekly cabinet meeting for the benefit of the media and the public.

The Federal Chancellery safeguards political rights

Voting location
Elections, popular votes, referendums, initiatives, petitions... very few sovereign states offer the people as many ways and opportunities to get involved in political decision-making as Switzerland does.
The Federal Chancellery also coordinates efforts to introduce eVoting.

Official Compilation
The Federal Chancellery is responsible for the Official Compilation of Federal Legislation, the Federal Gazette and the Classified Compilation of Federal Law.
Brochures such as "The Swiss Confederation: a brief guide", provide the public with an insight into the Swiss State and the way it functions.

The Federal Chancellery online

The Federal Chancellery looks after a number of government websites: www.admin.ch, www.bundesrat.admin.ch, www.bk.admin.ch, www.news.admin.ch and the Swiss Portal www.ch.ch.
It promotes eGovernment and coordinates the activities of webmasters from all government departments
